Locomotion

For over 5 years Chromazone has worked extensively with the team at Locomotion to provide exhibition, display and signage solutions across the whole site. Locomotion is part of the Science Museum Group, the world’s most prestigious family of science museums.

At Locomotion you can see highlights of the national collection of railway vehicles in the world’s first railway town.

We have supplied a wide range of printed graphics internally, including freestanding display units, display panels, window graphics, retail POS solutions and signage. Externally we updated all the signage as Locomotion was transformed to became part of the Science Museum Group brand, with giant letters cut to shape for the glass facade and gloss black aluminium sign panels.

The Common Room

Working closely with the designers at Twentyseven Design we have created an extensive array of impressive interpretation graphics and signage at The Common Room, Newcastle’s recently refurbished and restored historical landmark building, now seeing new life as a venue for education and cultural events.

In keeping with the fabric of this historic venue, the lecture theatre was fitted out with exact replicas of the existing portrait collection that features all past presidents of the Mining and Engineers Forum.

In other areas interpretation graphics and wayfinding signage has been produced to blend in with the existing building fabric, displaying information to their visitors.

Great Exhibition
of the North

Working directly for the NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI) we produced a wide range of vibrant colour graphics to highlight the GEOTN (Great Exhibition of the North) at multiple venues across Newcastle and Gateshead, including the Sage, BALTIC and the Great North Museum. The work included printing and installing banners, display stands and temporary event signage.
